When it was time for me to sell my non-aging, in-place friendly home of 50+ years, I called upon Gary. My son had bought his own home more than 20 years ago with Gary as his agent. Working with the Swittel Team, I became educated in the home buying/selling process. I really enjoyed working with Gary and Mary Kay Swittel for my first home buying experience. They made the process easy to understand and were always there if I had questions. Which, as a first time home buyer I had many questions I didn’t even know I wanted to ask until something came up during the process. Gary was great at helping me narrow down what I was searching for in a home. The part of Gary’s process I very much appreciated was that he was always available via email/ text, I felt he went above for being available late into the evening and/or early AMs to set up a showing or reply to a email/text I sent him. This was especially helpful for me because I work third shift and have odd hours myself. Once it came to negotiations and closing MK had the paperwork emailed extremely quick and I was able to get it signed and sent back to them right away, this was especially helpful with negotiations with the sellers so the sellers knew I was a serious contender to buy their home by having the electronic paperwork sent to them asap. Gary and Mary Kay were not only professional but very kind to work with, I feel very lucky to have been referred to them. I have used the service of Gary Swittel and his team three times in the last eight years. First to buy my previous condo in Fox Point in 2011, then to sell the condo and buy our new house in Glendale in 2018. It was pure chance that I found Gary when I needed help with the first purchase eight years ago. I was so impressed with his knowledge and professionalism that we went straight to him when it was time to upgrade. You might have noticed the change in pronouns from “I” to “we” in the previous sentences. You see, between buying the condo in 2011, and then the house in 2018, I have gotten married and my wife and I were expecting our first child.

The first time I worked with Gary it was all man-to-man, straight up, no nonsense business. The second time though, a little more diplomacy and sensitivity was called for. My wife and I had somewhat different levels of understanding of the market and the process of buying and selling. We also had slightly different requirements and expectations. Gary was very patient with both of us, both when we were touring houses, and when we sat down to formulate and evaluate offers, and spent extra time with us to make sure everyone was on the same page.

While buying the house, Gary was very good with helping us figure out what repairs we must insist the sellers make. When selling the condo, Gary was very honest about the type of upgrades we might need to perform to facilitate a quicker sale; and how much our asking price might need to drop if we were unwilling to perform those upgrades. In both cases, offer and counteroffer documents were drafted accurately and delivered quickly, with plenty of expert advice added.

We have now lived in our Glendale house for almost a year and we couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
